Alexis Mac Allister scored a beautiful goal to help Liverpool knock Spurs out of the League Cup on Tuesday night.
The midfielder created headlines last week when he admitted he was upset at not being offered a new contract and could have left the club in the summer transfer window.
That has not affected the 27-year-old’s performances of late, though, as he opened the scoring at Anfield for his second goal in three games for the Reds.

Cody Gakpo doubled their lead before Conor Gallagher pulled one back to set up a nervy finish to the game. But Dominik Szoboszlai put the game to bed with a wonder strike in the 90th minute.
Mac Allister puts contract complaints behind him as Liverpool beat Spurs
Speaking to ITV Sport after the final whistle, Mac Allister said he’s “feeling really good” now and “feeling the love” from the Liverpool fans amid his contract situation.
“We played against a very good team who know what to do on the ball,” the Argentina international said.
“I like getting in the box and scoring, really important to score for our confidence and to win but we need to understand this is one game.
“I am feeling really good and I am feeling the love of the fans which is really important for me.”
Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola handed opportunities to a number of prospects, such as Trey Nyoni, Rio Ngumoha, James McConnell and Lewis Koumas. Mac Allister admitted that he sometimes gets angry with the youngsters, but says they will be “really important” to the first team this season.
“The young players show every day in training they want to be here,” he said. “They deserved this. I focus quite a lot on them and sometimes get angry but I think that is me wanting them to succeed.
“They are going to be really, really important for us during this season.”
