Luke Shaw admits he would take England team-mates Harry Kane and Declan Rice at Manchester United ‘in a heartbeat’.
United have been linked with moves to sign the duo this summer as Erik ten Hag looks to strengthen his squad ahead of the club’s Champions League return.
Rice is expected to leave West Ham and has been the subject of an approach from Arsenal, while Kane’s future is also uncertain as the forward enters the final 12 months of his deal at Tottenham.
Shaw is currently with the in-demand duo as England prepare to face North Macedonia in a Euro 2024 qualifier at Old Trafford on Monday evening. The left-back this week posted images of himself showing Kane and Rice around Manchester United’s Carrington training ground, where England have been based ahead of tonight’s fixture.
Shaw said that he was ‘half-joking’ with the post, but admitted he has been in conversation with his England team-mates about life in Manchester and said he would be delighted to welcome the ‘world-class’ additions of Kane and Rice to the club this summer.

“Because of the timing of the season and what’s going on, there is a lot of talk,” he said at a press conference ahead of the North Macedonia fixture.
“I can’t lie, I’d love a few of them to come to United, I’m not going to lie. I am speaking to them telling them how good Manchester is, because I know their qualities.
“They’re world-class players and they’d add massive strength to us. But of course, I can only say so much, it’s down to the club and what they decide. They’ve been here the last couple of days, hopefully they like and get used to it. I was only half-joking [about his Instagram post], it’s a bit of both. Like I said there, I know they’re both world-class players.
“Of course I don’t know what’s going on with the situation at their clubs but if it was down to me, I’d take them in a heartbeat. They’d help us go on to what we want to achieve.”
