Romelu Lukaku has revealed his belief that the current Manchester United squad is good enough to win the Premier League title next season.
United look on course to finish second this season, but sit a whopping 16 points behind arch rivals and league Champions Manchester City.
However, Lukaku reckons the current group of players at Old Trafford have enough talent to close the gap on Pep Guardiola’s side and challenge for the Premier League title next season.
“I’m really confident in my team-mates.” Lukaku said.
“I think we can do it with the team we have now, but we should have showed more consistency throughout the season.
“For us now it is up to us to be more consistent and the manager needs to see if he has to add more players but with the players we have now, I think we have enough. We just have to be more consistent.”
The Belgium international also admitted that he feels this has been a strange season for the Red Devils as they have quite often followed up impressive wins against top six rivals with sloppy displays against so called lesser teams.
Lukaku has enjoyed a decent first season at Old Trafford netting 29 goals in all competitions so far this campaign after his £75 million move from Everton last summer.
