Lukaku shocks Belgium by revealing international retirement plans

Romelu Lukaku has shocked Belgian Football by announcing his plans to quit international football after the 2020 European Championships.

The Manchester United striker is his Country’s all-time leading goal scorer with 40 goals in 75 appearances for Belgium.

However, despite having only turned 25 last May the powerful striker has revealed that his plans to quit international after participating in the next major tournament.

“After the Euros, I think I’ll stop,”ย He told Business Insider.

“Every big tournament for us as a country has to be getting into the semi-finals, and then you go from there.

“You will go to win the whole thing, but you don’t go for less than the semi-finals.”

Anyone else see this an nothing more than an attention getter. With all the news on Paul Pogba it was only a matter of time before Lukaku would be missing being in the headlines. A long notice period gives him plenty of time to have the world talk about how wonderful he and how Belgium can’t do without him.
