Manchester United striker has claimed that Alexis Sanchez was destined to play for the club.
The Chilean made the move to Old Trafford from Arsenal almost two weeks ago in a sensational swap deal involving Henrikh Mkhitaryan. Neither side paid a transfer fee with both sides arguably benefitting from the move. United gained a world class forward, while Arsenal got rid of a player who no longer wanted to be at the club, while also securing a top quality replacement.
However, speaking to Sky Sports, Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku has claimed that his new team mate was ‘destined’ to play at the Theatre of Dreams:
He [Sanchez] is a Manchester United player – he was destined to play here. He deserves to be on the big stage. It was something he wanted as well.
“He has a lot of experience after playing for Barcelona and Arsenal. I admire the quality he has on the ball, but especially his will to win.
“People were criticising him for being moody, but he is not like that. He is a just a winner.”
The Belgian himself only made the move to Old Trafford in the summer, joining in a £75m deal from Everton, and has already established himself as a vital player for the Red Devils, scoring 18 goals in his first 35 appearances for the club.
Sanchez is yet to get off the mark for United, but already has two assists to his name after his contributions on his debut in the FA Cup tie against Yeovil.
