Maurizio Sarri got his Chelsea reign off to a winning start, with his new side running out 1-0 winners against Australian side Perth Glory on Monday.
Pedro got the Blues off to a flying start, scoring after just five minutes, and despite Chelsea creating plenty of chances throughout the game the score would remain 1-0.
Sarri developed a reputation for playing scintillating attacking football during his time with Napoli in Serie A, and Blues defender David Luiz has revealed that him and his team-mates are enjoying their new managers style of play.
“We played well, starting to know about the new philosophy,” said the Brazilian.
“The result is nice. We create a lot, should have scored more goals, but it was great to start to try a new philosophy.”
Chelsea’s next pre-season fixture will see them take on Inter Milan in France next Saturday.
