Liverpool travel to RB Leipzig on Wednesday night aiming to continue their perfect start in this season’s Champions League campaign.
Arne Slot’s side are targeting a third consecutive win in the league phase, having navigated the challenges of AC Milan and Bologna to date.
Liverpool have won 10 of their first 11 games under Slot across all competitions, the best-ever start of any manager in the club’s history. Top of the Premier League table and with maximum points after two European games, it has been an almost flawless start to the Dutchman’s tenure.
Leipzig are without a Champions League point after two games, though only trail Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich by virtue of goal difference domestically.
Liverpool XI vs RB Leipzig – Predicted lineup and team news
Liverpool team news
Alisson remains an absentee for Liverpool with the goalkeeper set to be sidelined until after November’s international break. The Brazilian’s hamstring injury will see Caoimhin Kelleher start in goal in Germany.
Diogo Jota added to Liverpool’s injury problems after being withdrawn in the weekend win over Chelsea. An incident involving Tosin Adarabioyo saw Jota limp off in the first half of the clash with the Blues and he will not be involved at the Red Bull Arena. Darwin Nunez is expected to deputise in his place.
