Luis Diaz is keen on a transfer to Barcelona this summer as the club prepare a new approach for the Liverpool winger.

Barcelona have had two approaches rejected by Liverpool for Diaz, with the Premier League champions insistent that the Colombian is not for sale.

Diaz has emerged as Barcelona’s top target to strengthen on the left-wing, after missing out on the signing of Nico Williams. Despite appearing close to a deal, Williams turned down the transfer in favour of signing a new 10-year contract with Athletic Club.

Diaz is now the priority for Barcelona and the Catalans are preparing a new proposal. Fabrizio Romano is reporting that the 28-year-old is open to a new challenge in La Liga after three-and-a-half seasons in English football.

Diaz scored 13 goals and created five more in the Premier League last season as Liverpool won the title under Arne Slot.

He is considered an important part of the club’s plans for the upcoming seasons but discussions over a new contract have failed to find an agreement. Diaz’s current deal at Anfield expires in 2027.

Bayern Munich have also considered Diaz as a potential option, having also expressed interest in signing Nico Williams. The German champions are determined to bring in a high-profile left-winger to boost their depleted attacking options.

Jamal Musiala’s serious leg injury has heightened the need to reinforce the squad. The German midfielder is facing at least four months out with a broken leg. Bayern have already lost Thomas Muller, Mathys Tel and Leroy Sane this summer.
