Liverpool trio return from injury as Slot names starting XI vs Bournemouth

Liverpool have been boosted by the return of Diogo Jota, Darwin Nunez and Curtis Jones from injury as Arne Slot named a strong starting XI to face Bournemouth on Saturday.ย

The trio were all named on the bench for the trip to the Vitality Stadium as they work their way back to full fitness, although there was no place for Joe Gomez in the matchday squad. The defender returned to training this week after missing the last eight matches with a hamstring injury.

Nunez would have started the midweek defeat to PSV Eindhoven in the Uefa Champions League, but he was ruled out through illness.

Jota has not played since scoring the equaliser in the 1-1 draw at Nottingham Forest in mid-January. Jones has been out of action since picking up a knock that forced him off at halftime of their 2-1 win over Lille just under a fortnight ago.

Meanwhile, Andoni Iraola named an unchanged starting lineup following last week’s 5-0 win over Nottingham Forest.
