Liverpool goalkeeper Caomhín Kelleher will not be moving to Chelsea as the club are ‘not interested’ in a transfer for the Irishman.
The Sun claimed on Monday that the Blues were ‘plotting a summer raid’ on Liverpool for the 25-year-old as replacement for Robert Sanchez.
The Spaniard has come in for criticism for his performances between the sticks this season, making three errors leading to goals.
Despite this, Chelsea ‘retain full belief’ in Sanchez, according to Football.London reporter Bobby Vincent.
The west London outfit are also said to be ‘confident in the goalkeeping department’ with Filip Jorgensen playing back-up while Mike Penders is set to arrive from Genk next summer.
Kelleher revealed in September that he has told Liverpool that he wants a move elsewhere in order to get more gametime, but the club have rejected transfer bids to keep him at Anfield.
“I made it clear in the last few years that I want to go somewhere and be a number one. The club has made that decision to get a goalkeeper (Giorgi Mamardashvili) which makes it look like they’ve made a decision to go in another direction.
“Liverpool have rejected a few bids as well. It’s not always in my hands to fully make the decision. My ambition is clear. I’m good enough and I want to go and play week in, week out.”
