Liverpool are monitoring Eintracht Frankfurt forward Omar Marmoush and Borussia Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi as potential replacements for Mohamed Salah.
Salah is out of contract at Liverpool at the end of the current campaign and there has been no public progress on talks of an extension for the Egyptian.
The 33-year-old, who is free to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs in January, is wanted by clubs in the Saudi Pro League and is expected to receive lucrative offers from the Middle East.
Salah has started the season in fine form with four goals and four assists in seven Premier League appearances for Liverpool, who top the division heading into the international break.
In-form Marmoush a transfer target for Liverpool
However, Sky Germany are reporting that the Reds are making contingency plans should Salah leave.
Among the players of interest is Salah’s international teammate, Omar Marmoush. The Egyptian has been in electric form to start the season with eight goals and four assists in just six Bundesliga games.
Marmoush signed for Frankfurt on a free transfer from Wolfsburg in 2023 and scored 17 goals in all competitions during his debut campaign.
Karim Adeyemi is also being monitored. The Borussia Dortmund forward scored a hat-trick in his side’s 7-1 thrashing of Celtic in the Champions League earlier this month and has five goals in eight games this season. The 22-year-old can feature off either flank and as a central striker.
