Liverpool are willing to offload Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet this summer following the big money arrival of Alisson.
Alisson became the most expensive goalkeeper in the world last month when Liverpool agreed to pay a whopping £67 million for his services, almost double the fee Man City paid for Ederson 12 months ago.
Having shelled out such an exorbitant fee to sign the Brazilian, it’s seems as though former number 1’s Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius are now surplus to requirements and could be sold.
Liverpool have already cashed in on former third choice ‘keeper Danny Ward, who has completed a £12 million move to Leicester City, and according to the Telegraph, Karius and Mignolet could follow him out of the exit door.
Mignolet is a surprise target for Barcelona where he would be a backup for Marc-Andre Ter Stegen, with current number two Jasper Cillessen a target for Chelsea as a replacement for Thibaut Courtois.
Meanwhile, despite his horrific mistakes in last season’s Champions League final, Karius could return to Germany with Bayer Leverkusen eyeing him as a potential replacement for Bernd Leno, who completed a summer move to Arsenal.
Jurgen Klopp is thought to have been impressed by rookie keepers Kamil Grabara and Caoimhin Kelleher during the club’s pre-season tour of the USA, and they could prove to be Alisson’s backup.
