Liverpool target admits he’s flattered by Real Madrid interest

Liverpool target Alisson has admitted that he is flattered to be linked with a move to Real Madrid.

The Reds have several issues in the last few seasons in the goalkeeping department, with both Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet failing to hold down the starting position on a long term basis.

German goalkeeper Karius has been handed the gloves in recent weeks, but doubts still remain regarding his overall ability to be the first choice ‘keeper for a top club for the long term.

Roma’s Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson Becker has been linked with a move to Anfield for the last few months, but recent reports have seen him also linked with a move to Real Madrid, something which clearly interests him.

Speaking about rumours linking him with the reigning European champions, he told Globoesporte: “I feel very happy to have that recognition, it means that my job is well done, that they are watching me, even more when one hears talk of Real Madrid.

“It’s news that moves our ego a bit, that can’t be denied. It doesn’t affect my performance, I am very focused at this moment. But I feel happy for the recognition.

“I don’t really like talking about my future. Logically I have my personal objectives and dreams, but I am very focused.”

Whether Real Madrid or Liverpool ultimately make a move in the summer for his services is yet to be seen, but his comments will no doubt be a disappointing blow for the Premier League side.
