Liverpool step up pursuit for £30million transfer target.

Liverpool will step up their pursuit of Southampton forward Sadio Mane this week as Jurgen Klopp looks to add more pace to his Anfield Line-Up.

The Daily Telegraph claims that Mane is now Liverpools primary target after Klopp grew frustrated in his chase for Bayern Munich playmaker Mario Gotze.

Liverpool made a formal offer to Southampton several weeks ago and negotiations are believed to have continued for a number of weeks since.

Southampton have already lost Ronald Koeman and Victor Wanyama in the last week and are resigned to the latest round of big money sales that have plagued the club for a number of years. Luke Shaw and Morgan Schneiderlin moved to Manchester United, whilst Dejan Lovren, Adam Lallana, Nathaniel Clyneand Rickie Lambert have already made the move to Anfield.

Liverpool will be hoping to add the name of Sadio Mane to the list of ex-Southampton players to be plying his trade at Anfield next season.
