Liverpool have slapped a world record price tag on the head of Philippe Coutinho to deter the attentions of Barcelona.
Reports from Spain in the last few days have claimed that Barcelona have sent representatives to England to hold discussions with Liverpool over the potential signing of the Brazilian.
Barcelona are thought to have had a £72m bid for Coutinho rejected, with an improved offer of £80m being expected in the coming days.
The player himself, despite being very happy at Anfield, is believed to be open to a move to the Nou Camp, where he could replace his fellow compatriot Neymar, who has been linked with a sensational £196m move to Paris Saint-Germain over the last few days.
However, Liverpool are desperate to keep hold of their star asset, and according to reports in Spain, the Reds have slapped a €150m (£134m) price tag on the head of the 25-year-old in an attempt to deter the La Liga giants.
