Liverpool and Chelsea are to battle for the signature of Borussia Dortmund star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang according to reports.
According to the Sunday Express, Liverpool are preparing a move which would reunite former Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp with the Gabon striker following their time working together at the Bundesliga club.
Meanwhile, the Metro also report that Chelsea are also eyeing up a move for the striker, having previously been linked back in the summer.
Aubameyang has been in impressive form for a number of years and has continued that this season, scoring 17 goals in 19 matches for Die Borussien.
However, he has made no secret of his desire to leave the club after spending four-and-a-half years at the Westfalenstadion.
It has been claimed in Germany that the relationship between the player and the club have deteriorated to a point where they could be tempted to cash in on the striker, with a bid of €60m (£53m) thought to be enough to get them to agree to his sale.
If Aubameyang were to move to Liverpool, it would also mean that Daniel Sturridge would be allowed to leave the club. Sturridge has been linked with a move away after finding limited opportunities to play in Jurgen Klopp’s first team. He has been linked with a move to West Ham and Newcastle.
