Liverpool have opened talks with Paris Saint-Germain star Julian Draxler according to reports in France.
The Germany international has fallen down the pecking order in the French capital following the arrival Kylian Mbappe and Neymar Jr this summer. He is aware that the World Cup is on the horizon, and with the wealth of options available to Germany head coach Joachim Low, he is also aware he needs to be playing regularly to make sure he is on the plane to Russia.
According to L’Equipe, Liverpool have opened talks with the Ligue 1 leaders regarding a potential loan move for the 24-year-old in January. Draxler only moved from Wolfsburg to PSG last January, but the wealth of attacking options at the club have limited him to just 589 minutes of League action this season.
Liverpool were interested in signing him last year, and are to rekindle that interest again in the next transfer window.
Draxler could be seen as an ideal replacement for Philippe Coutinho who has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona.
However, Arsenal also have a long standing interest in the playmaker, who also view him as a potential replacement for Alexis Sanchez.
