Liverpool look to beat United and Arsenal to sign Dortmund ace

Liverpool are looking to beat Manchester United and Arsenal to the signing of Borussia Dortmund ace Christian Pulisic according to reports in Germany.

The 19-year-old USA international has gained plenty of admirers over the last few years after some impressive performances in the Bundesliga and on the Interntional stage.

Liverpool have long been linked with the versatile midfielder and are known to have already had one bid rejected since 2016 as Jurgen Klopp looks to raid his former club.

However with Pulisic’s contract having just two left years to run, and a new contract offer remaining unsigned, the former Dortmund boss is ready to reignite his interest in the youngster once more, with German publication Bild claiming that Liverpool will make a €60 million move this summer.

Klopp has already shown his patience in the past in order to land the exact player he wants, waiting six months to sign Virgil van Dijk from Southampton, while also being prepared to wait a year for Naby Keita to join his squad.

Pulisic is already widely expected to become the first American superstar, having already scored nine goals in just 20 caps for the national team. He has already signed a big money sponsorship deal with Nike, and it is clear to see why he is attracting the attentions of Liverpool, Man Utd and Arsenal, all who are under US ownership.

Meanwhile, Dortmund chief Michael Zorc has said that while he speaks to Klopp on a regular basis, he knows nothing of a potential move for the BVB starlet:

“I’m in constant contact with Jurgen Klopp, but I know nothing about that.”

Bayern Munich are also thought to be interested as they look at long-term replacements for ageing stars Frank Ribery and Arjen Robben.
