Liverpool have lodged a bid of around €80m for the services of Monaco midfielder, Thomas Lemar.
It is being reported by a number of sources, including the Liverpool Echo, that the Merseyside club have lodged a bid with the French champions as they make a last push to strengthen their squad ahead of Thursdays transfer deadline. The Echo claim that the bid is worth around £60m although other reports suggest it is higher.
It has been reported in France that the bid is worth an initial €72m (£66m) with a further €8m (£7m) in add ons.
Lemar had a sensational season for Monaco last year, scoring 14 goals in his 55 appearances for the club.
His good form has attracted some of the Premier Leagues big boys. Arsenal have already had several bids rejected for the Frenchman, while Man Utd are also believed to be interested, and were the bookmakers favourites to sign him as of just last week.
Monaco have been reluctant to sell yet another one of their stars, but the club record bid from Liverpool could be too good to turn down.
Should he decide to move to Merseyside, he could be a potential replacement for Barcelona target Philippe Coutinho. The Brazilian is yet to feature this season for the Reds due to an injury, but has also handed in a transfer request as he looks to force through a move.
