Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has hailed Chelsea’s ability to bounce back from poor seasons and then challenge for the Premier League during the next campaign.
Carragher also praised how Chelsea operate in the transfer market, despite the Stamford Bridge constantly chopping and changing their managers.
”The great thing about Chelsea under Roman Abramovich is whenever you think they have got problems, they are the one club in the top six who can fight back straight away and win a league.’’ He told Sky Sports.
”When Antonio Conte came in they’d finished 10th and won the league. They can still win trophies when you think they’ve got problems.
”Chelsea are brilliant – and they have been, no matter who the manager is, at doing transfer deals behind the scenes. It is a brilliantly run club in terms of getting money for players and also in the transfer market.”
Chelsea are due to wrap up a World Record transfer for a goalkeeper in the next 24 hours with Athletic Bilbao’s Kepa Arrizabalaga set to join the Blues in a £71 million deal, while the Blues are also expected to complete a loan move for Real Madrid’s Croatia international midfielder Mateo Kovacic before the transfer window close in England at 5 pm tomorrow.
