Liverpool legend John Aldridge reckons that Borussia Dortmund attacker Christian Pulisic would be a excellent addition to Jurgen Klopp’s squad.
The 20-year-old American has been long been linked with a move to the Premier League and that speculation has ramped up recently after he slipped down the pecking order at the Westfalenstadion due to the emergence of English youngster Jadon Sancho.
Pulisic’s contract at Dortmund runs out at the end of the 2020 season and he has been linked with a move to Liverpool having previously worked under Jurgen Klopp in Germany.
Former Reds striker Aldridge believes the talented youngster would be a ‘fantastic signing,’ and would help fill the creative void in the Reds side after the departure of Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona last January.
“Christian Pulisic would be a fantastic signing for Liverpool,” Aldridge told the Liverpool Echo.
“I know Borussia Dortmund have said he’s not for sale in January but next summer he will only have a year left on his contract.
“I watched him score two goals against us for Dortmund in that pre-season friendly in America and he really impressed me.
“He’s a player Klopp knows all about and he has tried to take him to Liverpool previously.
“Pulisic has got pace and he would certainly fit our style. With the way he picks the ball up and goes past players, he’s a Coutinho-type.”
