After weeks of speculation, Liverpool have edged closer to the signing of Mo Salah.

Reports today suggest that Liverpool have finally been able to agree a fee with Serie A side AS Roma for the signing of Salah after weeks of negotiations.

It is believed that the player will arrive in London this evening and will travel to Merseyside on Wednesday to complete his medical and finalise any paperwork before being unveiled as a Liverpool player in the next few days.

AS Roma have driven a hard bargain, standing firm on their £35m asking price fle the Egyptian for who they only signed last summer for £13m from Chelsea.

The winger had spent the previous season on loan in the Italian capital, before making the move permanent. During his two years at the club, he rediscovered his form, scoring 34 goals in 84 appearances.

The deal would equal the club record transfer of £35m that the club paid for Andy Carroll back in 2011.

Chelsea are due a £2.7m cut from the deal thanks to a sell on clause inserted into the terms of his sale to Roma.
