Liverpool are eyeing a shock move for Manchester United flop Memphis Depay.
The Dutch international has shone since leaving Old Trafford for French club Lyon, having endured a miserable spell in the Premier League during two years in Manchester.
Jurgen Klopp’s side are looking to add to their forward options this summer, with Real Madrid holding a strong interest in Sadio Mane, and Depay is reported to be amongst their top targets.
Liverpool missed out on the 25-year-old in 2015 when he left PSV for the Premier League, but are set to renew their interest this summer.
Depay is said to be interested in leaving Lyon, and is seeking another opportunity to succeed at one of Europe’s leading clubs.
The Mirror are reporting that any deal for Depay would likely cost the club in the region of £50m, though United are believed to have inserted a buy-back option on the Dutchman and could rival the Merseyside club for his signature.
