After weeks of speculation and rumours, bids and rejections, claims and counter claims, Liverpool have finally ended their pursuit of Naby Keita.

The Reds have been linked with making a number of bids for the RB Leipzig midfielder, all of which have been rejected as they are determined not to be bullied into a sale.

The constant rejections, and denials from the Bundesliga club, didn’t put off Jurgen Klopp for several weeks, until now.

The Liverpool Echo now claim that the Reds have finally ended their pursuit for now, and may return for the player next summer, when he will be available for just £48m, some £20m less than what Liverpool have offered this summer.

The 22-year-old was believed to be desperate to move to Anfield this summer, and speculation intensified earlier this week when RB Leipzigs training session had to be abandoned following a horrific challenge by the Guinean on his teammate Diego Demme, as his frustrations got the better of him.
