Liverpool have named their team to face AC Milan in Hong Kong on Saturday with two notable omissions.

Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez have not been included in the squad for the game, as speculation continues to surround their futures at Anfield.

Diaz has informed Liverpool of his desire to leave this summer, amid interest from Bayern Munich. The German champions are preparing an improved offer after an initial approach was rejected.

Despite travelling with the squad for their pre-season tour of Asia, Diaz has not been named in today’s squad.

Nunez is also left out with the Uruguayan expected to depart this summer. The 26-year-old has had an impressive start to pre-season with four goals in two games.

However, the expectation is that Nunez will leave, following the signing of Hugo Ekitike this week. Liverpool are also pursuing a deal to sign Alexander Isak from Newcastle United.

Ekitike is not involved in the squad for today’s game. New signing Florian Wirtz does start at the Kai Tak Stadium.
