Liverpool have agreed a deal worth around £40m to sign Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez.

The Hungary international is due to undergo a medical with the Reds next week ahead of signing a long-term contract at Anfield. Kerkez was identified as the top target to strengthen at left-back as Liverpool seek a long-term replacement for Andy Robertson.

The 21-year-old has impressed across his two seasons at Bournemouth and featured in all 38 league games for the Cherries in 2024/25. Kerkez scored twice and provided five assists for Andoni Iraola’s side, while ranking second in the Premier League for crosses into the penalty area. He was named in the PFA Fans’ Team of the Season for 2024/25.

Liverpool agree Milos Kerkez transfer with Bournemouth

The Athletic are reporting that a fee has now been agreed between the two clubs. Liverpool sporting director Richard Hughes was involved in the deal that took Kerkez to Bournemouth from AZ Alkmaar in 2023.

It continues an impressive summer of recruitment for the Premier League champions. Liverpool have already signed Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen, while a club-record deal for Florian Wirtz is being finalised. The Germany midfielder is undergoing a medical at Liverpool on Friday.

Kerkez will join Hungary teammate Dominik Szoboszlai at Liverpool and his arrival could lead to exits. Robertson has been named as a potential target for Atletico Madrid, while Kostas Tsimikas has also been linked with an exit.

Bournemouth, meanwhile, have already moved to replace Kerkez. The Cherries completed the signing of left-back Adrian Truffert from Rennes earlier in the window.
