Liverpool are ready to reignite their interest in Real Madrid’s Marco Asensio.
Jurgen Klopp’s side were reportedly keen on a deal for the Spanish star last summer, and were rumoured to have tabled a €180 million which was rejected by the European champions who were keen to retain Asensio following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo.
With new Real manager Santiago Solari preferring summer signing Vinicus Junior ahead of Asensio, the club may be more willing to discuss a deal to sell the 22-year-old should Liverpool come back in with a second bid.
Eduardo Inda, chief pundit at Okdiario, believes Liverpool and Klopp will approach Madrid again for a player the German manager ‘loves’.
He said: “This year, an offer of 180 million euros came from Liverpool to Real Madrid for Asensio. The club said no because Cristiano (Ronaldo) had left.
“But Klopp is in love with the player and will go for the player next summer.”
