Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers has praised Harry Maguire as a ‘big talent’.
The former Liverpool boss took charge at The King Power Stadium last week after leaving Celtic, and has been left impressed by the 26-year-old England international.
Maguire joined Leicester in a £17m deal from Hull City in 2017 and has gone on to establish himself as a leading defender in the division, earning 16 caps for England and starring at the 2018 World Cup.
Rodgers has been full of praise for the centre-back, who last summer was linked with a big-money move to Manchester United.
“He can step in, but firstly, he can defender,” Rodgers told the Leicester Mercury.
“He wins his headers, he’s very powerful, he’s brave, he gets blocks in, but the type of game I have always promoted they need to have some comfort on the ball at the back, and he can make passes, so he’s a big talent.”
Rodgers will be looking for his first win as Leicester manager when his side host struggling Fulham on Saturday.
