Champions Leicester City have made a £20million move for a Premier League striker who wants to move to the East Midlands club.

Watford striker Troy Deeney would complete the move to last seasons Champions after Leicester made a £20million move for the 27-year old.

However, according to the Daily Mirror, Watford have turned down Leicesters approach as they look to keep their star striker as they ready themselves for their second consecutive Premier League campaign.

The Watford captain scored 15 goals for his club last season and formed a good partnership up front with Odion Ighalo.

Deeney is keen to move to Leicester to play in this seasons Champions League, whereas Watford are keen to keep the striker, who still has four years remaining on his deal at Vicarige Road.

Leicester are looking to sign a new striker amid the speculation surrounding top goal scorer Jamie Vardy, who is close to a move to Arsenal. However, Leicester will continue their push to sign Deeney even if Vardy stays at the club.
