Leicester City hope to have identified another hidden treasure in the depths of Ligue 1 as they prepare for life without N’Golo Kante.
France midfielder Kante moved to the King Power stadium last summer as a relative unknown player after completing a £5.4million transfer from Caen. Over the course of the season, the midfielder became an integral part of the clubs Premier League title winning squad.
The 24-year old has been linked with a £20million move to Arsenal, Manchester United or Paris Saint-Germain, leaving Leicester to look for replacements for the heart of their midfield.
According to The Mail, the Champions of England have identified Nice midfielder Nampalys Mendy as a replacement for the Kante.
Ranieri was impressed by the deep lying midfielder during his time as Monaco manager in the 2014/15 season and could now make a move. Leicester are preparing an £8million move, whilst Nice are said to be holding out for £12million.
