Premier League champions Leicester City are keen on signing former Stoke City midfielder Steven N’Zonzi.

The dynamic midfielder is seen as an ideal replacement for N’Golo Kante who left the club earlier this summer, completing at £30million move to Chelsea.

Leicester are keen to make additions to their squad after an underwhelming defence to their title, as well as in their Champions League debut, where they were handed a favourable group draw.

N’Zonzi is currently plying his trade in La Liga for Europa League winners Sevilla, where he made a £7million from Stoke City last summer, but he could be on his way back to the Premier League as Claudio Ranieri confirmed the clubs interest in signing the 27-year old.

The cheeky Italian said:

I confirm the speculation.

The deal to take N’Zonzi to the King Power stadium could be a club record deal with the Foxes ready to pay the midfielders £25million release clause.
