Leicester City have made an ambitious move to sign Brazilian starlet Gabriel Barbosa who has been targetted by some of Europe’s biggest clubs.

The Premier League champions are believed to have made a £23million bid for the 19-year old striker as they look to pep up their attacking options ahead of the new season.

Barcelona, Juventus and Inter Milan have all made a move for the striker, with Barcelona believed to have an agreement to have the first option for his signature with his club Santos.

Barbosa, also known as ‘Gabigol’, is currently taking part in the Olympics in his home country, where home fans have booed the team following two 0-0 draws in their opening two games.

If Leicester were able to snatch Gabigol from under the noses of Barcelona, they break their club transfer record for the second time this summer, after already paying £18million to CSKA Moscow for Ahmed Musa.
