Leeds United’s unbeaten start to the season faces its toughest test yet at a ground where the club has a historically poor record when they face Brighton & Hove Albion.
Daniel Farke’s side have taken four points from two Premier League matches and remain unbeaten across all competitions this term.
Farke has spoken warmly of Saturday’s opponents, calling Fabian Hurzeler “a very promising prospect” who has “already delivered on Premier League level,” while acknowledging the scale of the challenge posed by a Brighton side he says has “an impressive start to the season.”

Joe Rodon will be out for eight to ten weeks after suffering what Farke called “a serious hamstring injury” against Brentford, a blow the manager described as “big” given the defender’s importance to the side. Mateo Joseph remains sidelined with a knee injury, though there is better news elsewhere, with Ilia Gruev back in training after his own knee problem.
Nico Elvedi is set to come into the back three in Rodon’s absence and could be handed his first Premier League start, while Gabriel Gudmundsson’s readiness to start at left wing-back remains to be seen. Deadline-day signings Melvin Bard and Jean-Matteo Bahoya are both available, with Bard the more likely of the pair to be involved given his match fitness from his time at Nice.
Noah Okafor remains part of Farke’s plans up front despite recent transfer interest, with the head coach dismissing any suggestion of a departure: “It wasn’t even a mention to myself from key people.”
