Leeds United XI vs Bournemouth – Predicted lineup and team news

Leeds United travel to the Vitality Stadium on Saturday afternoon looking to build on one of the Premier League’s meanest defensive records.

Leeds United travel to the Vitality Stadium on Saturday afternoon looking to build on one of the Premier League’s meanest defensive records.

Daniel Farke’s side are seventh in the table, two points clear of Saturday’s opponents, and have conceded just six goals in the league this season, fewer than every side bar leaders Arsenal. Leeds were held to a goalless draw by Sunderland last weekend, one of five 0-0 results for the club in the 2026 calendar year, the most of any side. Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored 14 Premier League goals last season, the highest tally by a Leeds striker since the club’s promotion back to the top flight, and he is expected to lead the line again on Saturday.

Leeds United team news

Mateo Joseph and Joe Rodon remain out through injury, while Anton Stach is a doubt with a foot problem. Gabriel Gudmundsson and Jayden Bogle are both expected to operate as wing-backs in Farke’s back-three system, with goalkeeper James Trafford continuing after recording the highest save percentage in the Premier League this season.

Sean Longstaff, who scored a dramatic 97th-minute equaliser at Bournemouth in April, is set to compete with Ao Tanaka for a start in central midfield alongside Ethan Ampadu. Referee Michael Salisbury has taken charge of Leeds three times recently, including September’s 4-1 win over Newcastle this season and two matches last season — a 4-3 defeat at St James’ Park and April’s 2-2 draw at this same venue — with the three games averaging more than five goals apiece.
