Leeds forward Tyler Roberts has praised the performance of his side after they thrashed promotion rivals West Brom 4-0 on Friday night.
Pablo Hernandez opened the scoring inside the opening minute at Elland Road, before Patrick Bamford scored twice and Ezgjan Alioski netted a fourth to seal an emphatic win for Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
The result saw Leeds bounce back from Tuesday’s 1-0 defeat at QPR and keeps their automatic promotion hopes alive, and Roberts was full of praise for his side’s performance.
“I think for this season, the team performance is up there,” Roberts told LUTV.
“After the loss on Tuesday it just showed the character that the team has got, along with the fight that we have.
“Our main objective was to set the pace from the start of the game and it definitely showed, by going up one nil up that early.
“The way that the team is set out and the way that we play on the front foot, pressing, fighting for every ball, scoring early is what we strive to do from the minute go.
“It all came together today and it showed with the result, it had a little bit of extra spice being against my own team and to get a good performance against my old team was pleasing to show how much I have come on and how much Leeds have improved me.
“We have a bit of relaxation over the weekend now, hopefully, results go our way, but if we keep doing, what we keep doing, it won’t matter about other results.”
