It’s time for the League of Ireland Weekly Awards, where The Football Faithful reward the very best and worst of Irish Football from the week gone by.
Moment of the Week
A slight tweak/change this week as all of us at The Football Faithful would like to wish Dinny Corcoran and Dante Leverock speedy recoveries from their nasty injuries. Supporters at Dalymount Park witnessed two serious injuries in the first half of their clash Friday night.
Firstly, Bohs striker Dinny Corcoran looked to have twisted awkwardly on his ankle following some movement in the area. But just as the medical team had stretchered Corcoran off the field, Rovers centre-back Dante Leverock collided with keeper Ed McGinty after a break down in communication. A sickening clash that saw the defender knocked out and sent to hospital. On the plus side the Bermudian International has since tweeted, below:
Thank you everyone for the messages I hope to be back as soon as possible. Credit to the boys for a massive win and my boy @RomeoParkes27 on his brace. Thanks to all the medical staff that took care of me. Best wishes to @bfcdublin player Dinny Corcoran on his recovery ??

Player of the Week:
Ciaron Harkin (Derry City)
Netted his first hat trick for the club in an emphatic 4-0 victory over Finn Harps. The talented 23-year old scored a beauty of a free kick for his first and the Candystripes didn’t look back, dominating an improving Harps side in the big North-West Derby.
A comprehensive win for Derry against their local rivals, Finn Harps. Hat-trick for Ciaron Harkin. #RTEsoccer pic.twitter.com/9y9TF9JMj9

Goal of the Week
Romeo Parkes (Sligo Rovers)
What a way to seal all three points away to third place Bohs and extend your unbeaten run to seven in the league. Ronan Coughlan’s excellent switch of play following a quick break in the 89th minute found Parkes bursting on from midfield. The front man controlled well and eventually stuck it home to break 10-man Bohs’ hearts in dramatic circumstances.
GOAL Sligo Rovers
Bohs 1-2 Sligo
Straight from a Bohs corner, Sligo go up the field and score what may be the match winner. Romeo Parkes with his second of the night. #RTEsoccer pic.twitter.com/sTZ2L5Supv

Howler of the Week
Comes from the first division were it seemed as if someone forgot to pay the electricity bill. If you thought a 63 minute first half at Dalymount Park was a record due to two nasty injuries, the Markets field went one better with a 71-minute second half due to floodlight failure. It did though provide a wonderful moment that the ball boys won’t forget in a hurry!
Floodlight failure at the marketsfield…perfect opportunity for @LimerickFCie goalkeeper Jack Brady to have a kick about with the ballboys! Top keeper and top bloke #GreatestLeagueInTheWorld good win for Limerick too! pic.twitter.com/v12wAqZK3L
