Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo has said that Adama Traore ‘must improve’ as the rumours persist regarding a move Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham.
Traore arrived at Molineux in what was a club record, £18 million deal from Middlesbrough, having shown impressive form in the Championship.
However, despite possessing a devastating turn of pace that is sure to frighten even the quickest of defenders, the 22-year-old has shown very little end product in the Premier League, and has scored just one league goal this season to date, and is yet to provide an assist.
Wolves have been linked with signing Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham in recent weeks, who is set to be ready to cut short his loan spell with fellow Midlands club Aston Villa, and speaking ahead of tomorrow’s FA Cup clash with Liverpool, Nuno Espirito Santo has told the former Barcelona youngster to buck his ideas up.
“Adama must improve, of course he has good things and given us good moments but he has to be consistent through all the performances. This is something we are really focused on because we truly believe in his qualities,” the Portuguese told reporters in his pre-match press conference.
“I think he is focused, he is working hard and we are helping him to achieve what we want. He needs to improve on a lot of things, like all the players.
“But I know what he’s going to give me, total availability to do his task.
“He brings an element of speed, unpredictability, quality and at the same time he must improve in all the aspects of the game.
“Players who play in the last line of the pitch, the most difficult line to play, have to have these characteristics. Talent, this is what you expect from them.”
