Lampard praises Derby striker Marriot ahead of Middlesbrough clash

Derby County boss Frank Lampard has been praising the form of Rams striker Jack Marriott.

Marriott scored midweek in a 4-1 away win over West Brom, his third goal of the season so far.

“Jack looks lean, fresh, fit and bright,” Lampard told RamsTV. “When you are playing well, you have confidence. He is scoring goals and tucked his goal on Wednesday night nicely. It was a classy finish. It looks simple but very good.’’

Marriott made the move to Pride Park this summer from Peterborough United, after netting 27 goals for the Posh last season.

Former Chelsea midfielder Lampard has been pleased with his performances so far.

“Jack’s all-round game has been excellent. I gave him a rest on Wednesday due to the scoreline. His work ethic off the ball is good and he’s clearly been watching Nugent since he’s been here because he’s always given us that and Jack has seen that.” He continued.

The Derby boss will be hoping for more of the same on Saturday the his side face Middlesbrough.
