Lampard: I’m not underestimating Sheffield Wednesday

Frank Lampard insists that he is not underestimating Sheffield Wednesday, despite the club languishing in 17th place in the table.

The former Chelsea midfielder took charge of the Rams this summer, and his side find themselves in sixth place in the table following eight wins in 17 fixtures.

Lampard has won praise for his work so far at the club, and he even guided the Rams past Manchester United in the Capital One Cup earlier this season.

But, he insists that he is not taking this weekends game for granted and knows the quality Wednesday possess.

“I’m not underestimating Sheffield Wednesday. I know they are a good team, they have got players who can hurt you. I watched them earlier in the season and they had some good games and I thought they were unlucky with some of the results they got.’’ Lampard told RamTV.

“They were playing some good football and we can’t think that they are a team out of form. We have to understand that they can hurt us. Every team in this division can hurt you if you’re not at it so we will approach the game in the same way.”

Derby lost 3-0 to Aston Villa at Pride Park last time out before the international break, but will be hoping they can bounce back against their opponents this weekend.

The two sides go head to head this weekend at Hillsborough with a 3pm kick off on Saturday.
