Derby County boss Frank Lampard has heaped praise on the Rams’ supporters ahead of their clash against Sheffield Wednesday this weekend.
Derby have won eight games in 17 in the Championship, and have even beaten Premier League heavyweights Manchester United in the Capital One Cup, in a terrific start to life in the dugout for Lampard.
The former Chelsea midfielder has won praise from supporters for his style of play and performances since taking charge of the club, but the manager has made sure to praise the fans for their support of the club so far this season.
“We are very fortunate with the support that we have,” Lampard told RamTV.
“The fans that travel, we certainly appreciate it and our responsibility is to try and perform for them.”
Sheffield Wednesday have struggled to build any sort of momentum so far this season, and Lampard will be hoping that his side can pick up all three points when the two sides face off at 3pm on Saturday at Hillsborough.
