Lacazette: Fans create a better atmosphere in France than in Premier League

Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette has revealed that he misses the atmosphere in Ligue 1, claiming that it is better than what is generated at Premier League grounds.

Usually, foreign players are quick to wax lyrical about how brilliant the stadium and crowds are in England, but Gunners frontman Lacazette has admitted that misses French football.

The 27-year-old, who signed for Arsenal from Lyon for £46.5 million in the summer of 2017, even suggested that English fans attend matches simply to watch a game rather than to really get behind their team.

“I miss Ligue 1’s atmosphere. In England, the fans are more spectators than supporters. There’s a better atmosphere in French stadiums,” he told Le Progres.

Lacazette has at least been enjoying himself on the pitch as of late, with the France international playing a key role in the Gunners superb six game-winning run in the Premier League, scoring four goals and providing two assists.
