Liverpool face Manchester City at Anfield, this Sunday, and Reds’ boss, Jurgen Klopp, has beenย speaking to the media at Melwood today ahead of the game.
The German manager is looking for a reaction from his Liverpool team as they welcome title-favourites, Manchester City, to the northwest. Klopp was unhappy with his team’s performance against Napoli on Wednesday and he knows that another showing like that will leave The Reds looking at another certain defeat, on Sunday.
“The timing wasnโt good in the defence, we didnโt adapt to what they did in the right way. After the game, it felt much more clear that they deserved to win. Timing was not good because we felt under pressure when we were not under it.
“We had a few wrong decisions where we could have played left, not right, there was a lot of times which was close to being good but no real perfect decision. We had three days and make the boys aware of what was wrong – but I wonโt forget how we played against Chelsea. We have to stay cool.”
“We want to show a reaction. I didnโt want to lose at Napoli but if you ask the best preparation mood-wise, itโs losing a game. We felt it now, we donโt want to have that feeling again.”
Manchester City are currently top of the Premier League with just goal difference separating them and Liverpool. Anfield is bound to be rocking for this game on Sunday and, if recent years are anything to go by, there should be no shortage of goals and drama.
