Jurgen Klopp will not be taking anything for granted when his Liverpool team take on bottom-of-the-league Fulham on Sunday.
The Liverpool manager feels that this Fulham team have been playing good football and can cause teams problems with their talented attacking players.
“This is a really strange feeling for Fulham, I can imagine how they feel,” Klopp tod his pre-match press conference.
“Their football is good, things are good, they cause Manchester City problems in the Carabao Cup – it was good football. They are skilled offensively and then the end product is maybe not so good often enough.”
Perhaps pre-empting an impatient crowd and a lacklustre atmosphere because of the midday kick-off for the game on Sunday, Klopp pointed out that Liverpool will need the home support to play their part as this Fulham team will not just be coming to make up the numbers.
“This game is a big challenge, this is a big challenge for all of us.’’ He continued.
“If some of our fans go to Anfield and expect an easy game, please stay at home.”
The Reds have not lost a home league game since the 2016/17 season and they have only conceded one league goal at Anfield since February. Liverpool are the hot favourites to turn Fulham team over on Sunday but nothing can be taken for granted in football.
