Klopp insists six point lead ‘means nothing.’

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has insisted that his side’s six-point lead at the top of the Premier League ‘means nothing’ at this stage of the season.

Yesterday’s results saw the Reds open up a six point lead ahead of second placed Spurs and move seven points clear of reigning Champions Man City.

However, with Liverpool set to face Arsenal and City in their next two games, Klopp has been quick to downplay the significance of his sides current position.

“That means nothing. We play Arsenal and City,” Klopp said after their 4-0 win over Newcastle.

“I had no idea how any other teams were playing, I didn’t even know where they were playing.

“Afterwards I got the results and I can say it didn’t do a lot for me. It is just information.

“It’s good that we have six points than other teams, or seven, but that is pretty much all.”
