Jurgen Klopp has ruled out taking over as England manager and hinted he could retirement from management.

The German left Liverpool at the end of last season after nine decorated years in charge of the Reds, where he won a clean sweep of major honours and ended the club’s 30-year wait for a Premier League title.

Klopp has been linked with the England manager’s job after Gareth Southgate’s decision to step down following Euro 2024.

However, the 57-year-old said he has received no offers and reiterated his desire to take a break from football.

“Nothing at all. Job-wise, nothing at all. No club, no country. Some people must not have heard that part,” he said at the International Coaches’ Congress in Wurzburg.

Asked specifically on England, he added: “That would be the biggest loss of face in the history of football if I said, ‘I’ll make an exception for you.'”

Klopp said he intends to return to work following a break but suggested it might not be in the dugout.

“I will work at something,” he added. “I’m too young to just play padel and only spend time with my grandchildren.

“Will it be coaching again? I would actually rule that out at the moment. We’ll see how things look in a few months. Right now, nothing is coming through.”
