Brazilian midfielder Fabinho was rumoured to be heading for an early exit from Anfield in recent weeks.
The former Monaco man signed for Liverpool soon after the club’s devastating loss to Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League final, and was expected to improve their midfield arsenal.
Jurgen Klopp was asked whether there was any truth in the stories concerning Fabinho and a possible early departure from Merseyside.
“He’s settling,” Klopp told his Friday press conference.
“He’s played three of the last four and he did well. Now the most intense period of the season is coming up and he has used his time to adjust to what we want.
“And of course he will not leave. That would be completely crazy. It’s the world we are in where people don’t play for a few games and they are open for a transfer.”
Fabinho didn’t make his first start until October after Klopp and the backroom team gradually upped his training intensity in preparation for the faster pace of the Premier League.
Fabinho’s presence has also allowed Klopp to alternate between a 4-3-3 formation and a 4-2-3-1 shape with he Brazillian excelling in the latter.
