Good news Liverpool fans, Jurgen Klopp is not planning on leaving the club any time soon, despite the German having being linked with taking over at Bayern Munich in recent days.
The Bundesliga giants were forced to sack former Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti after a disappointing start to the season, and re-hired former coach Jupp Heynckes on a short term basis.
They are expected to make a new managerial appointment in the summer, and Klopp’s agent sparked a wave of speculation earlier this week by suggesting that Klopp would not be phased by a move to the Allianz Arena.
However, speaking in an exclusive interview with the Telegraph, Klopp has admitted that both he and his family are happy on Merseyside and is not thinking about leaving the club.
“As long as my family feel comfortable here and like it here, I always fulfil contracts. But that’s not all in my hands, in football especially,” said the Liverpool boss.
“I really hope that we never reach a situation where people say ‘Hopefully he leaves tomorrow’.
“But nobody needs to worry about that moment – if anyone is worrying.”
Klopp has got his Liverpool team playing some scintillating football, and are well placed to finish in the top four for the second successive season. They also have the opportunity to progress to the semi-finals of the Champions League, although they do have the tricky task of beating Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City first.
