Liverpool’s German manager Jurgen Klopp is looking forward to facing Manchester United this Sunday in a game billed as the ‘English Clasico’ by Sir Alex Ferguson.
The former Borussia Dortmund boss also gave some insight into how players prepare for this game behind the scenes.
“The players talk to each other in the changing rooms and prepare each other,” Klopp said at his pre-match press conference today.
“It’s a game the same as any other though – give everything you have to try and win it, historically it is a big game so I’m blessed to hear it called the English El Clasico.”
“If Ferguson says it’s the English Clasico, then that’s cool because I was already involved in the German Clasico!”
Klopp acknowledged that this game is a huge fixture every season and mentioned how he used to watch the games while in Germany.
“Being part of this game is pretty special. It’s a big one.
“When I was in Germany I tried everything to watch it. It’s always been tight against them.”
The sides face each other at 4pm on Sunday with Liverpool most likely needing the win to go back top of the Premier League as City will have played Everton in the early game on Saturday.
