Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was asked today about Sean Dyche’s claims that Daniel Sturridge had cheated during Wednesday night’s game at Turf Moor.
The Reds came from behind to win 3-1 at Burnley and Dyche felt Sturridge had dived following a no-contact challenge from Phil Bardsley.
However, Klopp was not taking Dyche’s comments lying down and highlighted some of the other moments of the game where he felt Burnley were too strong in their challenges.
“Sturridge is no cheat. I’m not sure if he (Dyche) spoke about the challenge of Phil Bardsley on Alberto Moreno?” Klopp told his Friday press conference.
“The game is really hard and sometimes a striker expects a tackle by jumping.”
Jack Cork gave Burnley a second-half lead at Turf Moor but Liverpool responded through goals from James Milner, Roberto Firmino and Xherdan Shaqiri.
This weekend, Liverpool travel to play Bournemouth in the early kick-off on Saturday.
Burnley have another home fixture on Saturday, this time against Chris Hughton’s in-form Brighton side.
