Klopp hoping to change Liverpool’s poor recent record against Manchester United

Jurgen Klopp has said he is hoping to improve on Liverpool’s recent record against Manchester United when the sides meet on Sunday.

The Anfield outfit might be the form team in the Premier League at the moment but they have not won in their last eight league meetings with United.

Klopp managed his team to a 2-0 win at home to United in the Europa League in March 2016 but he’s yet to take all three points from them in the league.

“Sometimes we haven’t got the results we deserved. We haven’t won a lot but we will try to change that,” said the Liverpool boss.

“I know it will be a very intense game and we will be ready for that.

“I don’t think we won a lot (against Manchester United in the Premier League), so we will try to change that.”

The Reds made it out of their Champions League group with a 1-0 win on Tuesday night but there was no opportunity for celebrations as the big games just keep coming for Klopp’s men.

“This week we reached a big target in the Champions League, we had one day to feel the relief of that,” Klopp added.

“Since yesterday we are back on track. I’m really looking forward to it. Big one.”
